The Asia and Pacific Health Program is dedicated to improving sexual reproductive and maternal health in low- and middle-income countries in the Asia-Pacific and globally. Advancing the global agenda on cervical cancer elimination; the elimination of parent-to-child transmission of HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B; and ending HIV and AIDS in our region, are key program priorities.
Our commitment to underserved people and communities includes the co-design and delivery of programs to advance equitable access to quality antenatal care to improve maternal and perinatal health; and strategies for the prevention, treatment, and care of HIV and sexually transmitted infections.
We work in partnership with communities to understand the intersection of infectious disease, gender, sexuality, culture, disability, the law, religion, and climate change. We are committed to decolonising global health and to building just and equitable solutions to public health challenges in low- and middle-income countries in our region and globally. Our work integrates research, implementation, and international development, generating world-first evidence, new innovations, and real-world impact.
Our collaborative research and international development program includes world-first infectious disease elimination initiatives in Asia and the Pacific, and has its foundation in Papua New Guinea, where members of our team have lived and worked extensively as researchers and clinicians over the past three decades.
