Dr Nicholas Medland appointed President of ASHM

The Kirby Institute congratulates Dr Nicholas Medland, who has been named the next President of the Australasian Society for HIV, Viral Hepatitis and Sexual Health Medicine (ASHM).

As clinical epidemiologist with the Kirby Institute’s Surveillance, Evaluation and Research Program, and a sexual health physician who has worked extensively in Vietnam, Dr Medland brings to ASHM years of experience, and a real passion for expanding ASHM’s international role, particularly in the Asia-Pacific Region. Dr Medland is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London/UK), one of the small group of Australian sexual health physicians to hold this title.

The Kirby Institute and ASHM have enjoyed a collaborative working relationship since the early years of the HIV epidemic, and Dr Medland’s appointment with further enrich and strengthen our organisations’ already close and productive ties.
