Laboratory Head, University of Melbourne Dr Amy Chung is an NHMRC Career Development and amfAR Mathilde Krim Phase II Fellow. She completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne and a postdoc at the Ragon Institute of MGH, MIT and Harvard. She returned to the University of Melbourne in 2015, where she established her own laboratory this year. |
Abstract
Antibodies are a vital component of the immune response, and can protect against infection by instructing the innate immune system with their Fc regions on how to attack pathogens. Using new antibody methodologies, we have been able to identify antibody responses required for protection against a range of infectious diseases including HIV and Mycobacterium Tuberculosis.
