A/Prof Cornelisse is the medical director of HIV, sexual health and viral hepatitis services on the North Coast of New South Wales, across Mid North Coast and Northern NSW Local Health Districts, with medical clinics in Tweed Valley, Lismore, Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie, and nurse-led clinics in Kempsey and Grafton.
In 2025, Vincent was awarded a grant from the Cancer Institute NSW to implement an anal cancer screening program for people living with HIV, in line with the new Australian anal cancer screening guidelines. Prior to moving to the North Coast, Vincent was a staff specialist in sexual health medicine and addiction medicine at Kirketon Road Centre (KRC) in Kings Cross, Sydney. Vincent completed his PhD in sexual health epidemiology at Monash University, based at Melbourne Sexual Health Centre, focusing on the prevention of HIV and sexually transmitted infection, with a particular focus on the role of saliva use during sex as a major transmission mechanism for gonorrhoea. This thesis was awarded the "Award for Best Thesis in Sexual Health Medicine" from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and this work won Vincent the "Public Health Researcher Award" from the Premier of Victoria.
