Kirby Institute Annual Report 2025

Kirby Institute Annual Report 2025

Key findings

The Kirby Institute is a world-leading health research institute at UNSW Sydney. We work to eliminate infectious diseases, globally. Our specialisation is in developing health solutions for the most at-risk communities. Putting communities at the heart of our research, we develop tests, treatments, cures, and prevention strategies that have the greatest chance of success. Doing so ultimately builds a safer, healthier world for everyone.

In 2025, the Kirby Institute continued to advance infectious disease research and public health in Australia and globally. From supporting the HIV response in Fiji and cervical cancer elimination efforts in the Pacific, to significant research achievements and recognition of our staff, the year highlighted the importance of collaboration and partnerships in improving health outcomes.

This year's annual report offers a concise overview of our research, people and achievements, alongside key statistics from 2025. A special publication celebrating the Kirby Institute's 40th anniversary explores our four decades of impact.
