This presentation provides an overview of the integrated monitoring and evaluation activities for priority neglected tropical diseases, vector-borne diseases and vaccine-preventable diseases in Vanuatu’s three most burdened provinces. These were integrated with a Ministry-led mass drug administration program for scabies, soil-transmitted helminths and yaws between 2021 and 2024.

Dr Assoum is a Research Fellow in the Global Health Program’s Neglected Tropical Diseases Research Group at the Kirby Institute. His research focus includes epidemiology and surveillance of neglected tropical diseases, with expertise in spatial epidemiology, integrated serosurveillance, wastewater-based disease detection, impacts of climate change, and leveraging AI. | |
Dr Abayasingam is a research scientist with expertise in epidemiology, immunovirology, and infectious diseases research. His work focuses on hepatitis C vaccine candidates and disease surveillance for neglected tropical diseases, vector-borne diseases, and vaccine-preventable diseases. His research has supported health policy and strategies towards more effective and sustainable disease control and prevention. |
